Haunted Lunacy Poetry

Forever is a lie we tell ourselves, when hearts pretend to care. Tomorrow brings inevitable pain, for once we love, it is ours to bear. Such beauty in the enchanted  moonlight, where once we used  to dance, now in its beams a broken man, who bared his soul to chance. It would have been better to never have danced at all and  saved them both from hell,  as forever is just a terrible lie that we always tell ourselves.

Ripping flesh from bone, / screams will feed my empty soul, / the harlots lovers.

Quiet memories, / haunting the back of my mind, / silently killing.

She laces up her shoes  and prepares to take the stage. She’s practiced it so many times, this dance she did  create. A dance to dazzle and impress, her moves will wow them all, but little do her patrons know, each step is their downfall. She’ll  spin and twirl and  pirouette, she’ll tear them all apart, and then for her grand finale she will rip out all their  hearts, and when it’s done she’ll  take a bow for she cannot resist,  after all her dance is the best one,  the dance of the narcissist.

In the twilight hours, the broken stars, they  fall. One by one they shimmer  away, longing to be beheld by all. A million galaxies we search  to find, the lonely star that  was left behind.  The universe with all its  vastness, would drive this lonely star to madness. Searching for another to  understand, and shine together once again.

Shadows plague a heart so tender, haunted silhouettes  upon this soul. Taunting me since late November, a wretched  thing to feel this cold. So I wrap myself in fiery  prose and words to warm this weary flesh, close my eyes and long  to slumber, a tortured dream, midnights caress.
