Haunted Lunacy Poetry

Haunted by ghost, eyes closed and lost in slumber. Trapped beneath the darkest veil,  behind my eyes, this private hell. Gasping for breath I toss and turn, this  nocturnal dance doth nightly return.  Eyes wide open,  an empty room. I dreamt of death. I dreamt of you.

The devil I am, / burning hell beneath my skin, / eternal torment.

Your angelic complexion, the perfect facade. I created you because I needed a god. An idol made of the most beautiful things, those poison lips and devils wings. I needed you to make me feel, but the you i loved was never real.

I wonder what it’s like to be happy, to always smile and never frown.  No quiet screams inside my head,  no feeling as if I am going to to drown. I wonder what it’s like to not be a joke, the lonely jester who inside cries. I dance and juggle and entertain, but when I’m alone the laughter  dies.

What lurks beneath the sand? A hidden world , a forgotten land? A monster waiting to  grab my feet,  pull me under and eat my meat? The gritty devil between my toes, what’s beneath the sand? No one knows. 

Embrace the sadness, / fall into its loving arms, / alone together.

Elegant naked bodies dancing beneath the  ethereal moon. Demons lurk in shadowy  realms, midnight approaches  as devils swoon. They sway and chant, at the haunted sky, singing wistfully the witches lullaby.
